Leading a company, Oberleutnant Johannes Schneider was tasked with the deportation of civilians living in the village Ala. During his interrogation, he describes how he and his company proceeded. According to him, around 100 civilians – mostly elderly, women and children – were horded in the middle of the village and walked through the nearby villages of Vyžary and Kapuscina to another one, the name of which he does not remember.
