In April 2021, the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Belarus initiated criminal proceedings for genocide against the Belarusian population during the Great Patriotic War and in the post-war period.

“Генеральный прокурор Республики Беларусь в апреле 2021 года принял решение о возбуждении уголовного дела по фактам совершения нацистскими преступниками, их соучастниками, преступными формированиями в ходе Великой Отечественной войны (1941-1945 гг.) и послевоенный период на территории БССР и других государств геноцида белорусского народа.”1

“In April 2021, the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Belarus decided to initiate a criminal case on the facts of the genocide of the Belarusian people committed by Nazi criminals, their accomplices, and criminal groups during the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945) and the post-war period on the territory of the BSSR and other states.” (Translation of the Russian original).
