On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the deportations of Azaryčy by the Wehrmacht, in which around 50.000 people were abducted and around 9.000 died, Aliaksandr Dalhouski and Christoph Rass gave a lecture in the Osnabrück council chamber. The event, as part of the project “Mapping the Co-Presence of Violence and Memory in Belarus”, addressed the memory of the victims and the role of the perpetrators. The challenges of the bi-national culture of remembrance in the face of political and geopolitical developments were discussed. The lecture was part of a workshop week on digital remembrance work financed by the EVZ Foundation.
