The 9th army headquarters meticulously counted the number of deported civilians. Twice a day, they listed how many civilians were brought into each camp, adding up to at least 41.000. These numbers, however, cannot be taken as absolut truths – the documentalist noted that some thousand small children would have to be added on top of that count.
