On March 12, 1944, the registration of 20.000 civilians suffering from typhus and otherwise unfit for work as well as small children and infants destined to be dropped off in Section 56.AK began. The same day, the first railroad transport arrived in Rudabielka.
As early as March 13, 1944, the quartermaster stated that:

(German original)

“the number of civilians captured and rolling in was doubling and that an extension of two days for the end of the operation had been promised.” (Translation of the German original)
