In its final report, the 9th Army headquarters gave a detailed account of the planning and execution of the Azaryčy deportations as a blueprint for similar operations in the future. They conclude that the deportation of more than 41.000 civilians and “several thousand uncounted children”, according to the Wehrmacht’s statistics, were a great success for the German army.
