On March 14, 1944, a captain in the 253rd Infantry Division of the Wehrmacht filed a complaint against a sentence he recieved from the division’s court martial for fraternizing with a female interpreter. He argued that the accusations were proven wrong by his recent participation in the deportation of civilians. The 253rd Infantry Division took part in the Azaryčy deportations during the days before his report.
A few days later, the accused officer got acquitted.
